Aikido of Honolulu

A non-profit dojo located in Nu‘uanu, teaching Aikido.


Thank you Oyama Shihan of Hombu Dojo for an excellent week of instruction and practice, February 17-20, 2026.  Thank you also to all the members and visitors who participated, making the Seminar a heartwarming community of kindred spirits enjoying Aikido practice.  Here are group photos of the participants on most of the practice days

Aikido of Honolulu is a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to teaching the Japanese martial art of Aikido. There are separate classes for adults and juniors (age 6-17). All instructors are from the local community and serve on a volunteer basis. Read more


Classes

JUNIORS CLASS

The beginners class teaches ukemi (breaking a fall) and applies it to introductory contact techniques in which students are tested on for promotion each year.

ADULTS CLASS

The advanced class expands upon contact techniques, often with more vigorous and dynamic ones practiced in class.
